Stanford is a located in the north-central part of Dutchess County, New York. Settled around 1750, the town was part of the Great Nine Partners Patent of 1697. Stanford was formed in 1793 from the town of Washington and includes the Hamlets of Stanfordville & Bangall.
Stanford is the home of beautiful trails in Buttercup Sanctuary, the Stissing Mountain Multiple Use Area, Wilcox Memorial Park and many other lovely natural resources.
Living in Stanford offers residents a rural feel and is home to young professionals. The public schools in Stanford are above average.
