Mamaroneck is located in Westchester County and is considered one of the best places to live in New York. There are two villages within the town: Larchmont and the Village of Mamaroneck (part of which is in the adjacent town of Rye).
Mamaroneck was purchased in 1661 from the Siwanoy tribe by an Englishman named John Richbell. Several skirmishes occurred in Mamaroneck during the American Revolutionary War in 1776. Mamaroneck was created as a town by the New York Legislature on March 7, 1788.
Living in Mamaroneck offers residents an urban suburban mix feel. Resident’s enjoy a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, parks and highly rated public schools.
